COLLEGE STATION, Texas – South Carolina assistant diving coach Allison Brennan continued her strong performances of late, earning a third-place finish in the women’s 3-meter springboard final at the USA Diving AT&T National Championships on Saturday.

Brennan posted a five-dive score of 345.95, topping the 70-point mark on three of her five attempts. Her final dive, a reverse 1.5 somersault with 2.5 twists, earned the highest score of any of her attempts, including a perfect 10.0 from one judge. Cassidy Krug took first place with a 381.90 while Bianca Alvarez was second at 358.05.

The 2004 NCAA 1-meter champion saved her best for the finals. She also took third place in the preliminary round on Wednesday with a 295.15, then finished eighth in the semifinals with a 283.80.

Two current Gamecocks also competed in the meet this week. Rising sophomore Rylan Ridenour advanced to the semi-finals in the men’s 3-meter springboard competition where he finished 16th with a six-dive total of 341.25. Redshirt junior Courtney Forcucci, in her first competition since suffering a leg injury during training in November, competed alongside Brennan in the women’s 3-meter event and finished 30th with a score of 213.15.
