COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina softball team concludes its fall exhibitions on Friday night with a 7 p.m. contest against the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) All-Stars at historic Beckham Field.

The Gamecocks hold a 6-1 record during this exhibition schedule, getting big outings from many different players along the way. Offensively, senior Laura Mendes and junior Lauren Lackey have led the way, with both posting on-base percentages over .550. In the circle, each of the four pitchers have tossed solid outings, including a one-hitter against Lander by the combination of senior April Borchardt and junior Kierstyn White.

The NPF All-Star team includes numerous former collegiate All-Americans and Olympians. Headlining the roster is former NCAA strikeouts record-holder Cat Osterman and 2009 National Player of the Year Danielle Lawrie. A pair of former All-Americans from Alabama, Kelly Kretschman and Charlotte Morgan, along with former Florida standout Francesca Enea also will be part of the team going against the Gamecocks.

After the contest, the final fall outing for the Gamecocks, both teams will sign autographs in the outfield at Beckham Field.

Tickets are available in advance for the contest, with adult passes going for $5 and youth 17 and under selling for $3. Group packages are also available by contacting the ticket office at 800-4SC-FANS. Those who have purchased a 2011 softball season ticket, which are $25 for adults and $10 for youth, also get a pass into Friday’s contest.
