Four members of the South Carolina Gamecock football squad earned All-SEC postseason honors according to the Associated Press, including three who garnered first team accolades, it was announced today.

Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore was unanimously selected as the SEC Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the All-SEC first team squad. He was joined on the first team by sophomore wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and sophomore defensive end Devin Taylor. Sophomore cornerback Stephon Gilmore earned a spot on the second team unit.

Lattimore helped lead South Carolina to the first division title in school history, ranking second in the SEC with 1,198 yards rushing and scoring 19 touchdowns. Jeffery was the SEC’s leading receiver with 79 catches for 1,387 yards, both school records. Taylor finished fourth in the league with 7.5 sacks, eighth with 12.0 tackles for loss and 15th with nine pass breakups. Gilmore led the team in tackles with 71 from his cornerback position and tied for the team lead with two interceptions.

The 78th annual AP All-SEC team was selected by a regional panel comprised of a dozen reports and broadcasters.
