COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina senior Courtney Forcucci has been named the SEC Female Diver of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
In Saturday’s tri-meet against Florida State and Alabama, Forcucci played a key role in the Gamecocks’ 151-149 win over the Crimson Tide. Forcucci, a native of Fort Mill, S.C., finished second on the three-meter springboard with a score of 281.15, which was 23 points ahead of Alabama’s closest diver. She also placed third on the one-meter springboard, 37 points ahead of Alabama’s nearest diver.
Forcucci has now earned SEC Diver of the Week honors four times in her Gamecock career.
South Carolina returns to action on Saturday in its home opener against Georgia Tech. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the Blatt P.E. Center/Carolina Natatorium.
