University of South Carolina senior defensive tackle Travian Robertson was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week, the conference office announced today.

Robertson, a 6-4, 298-pounder from Laurinburg, N.C., tallied four total tackles, including two solo stops in South Carolina’s 17-12 win over Florida on Saturday. He registered two tackles for losses (-10 yards) including an eight-yard sack. Robertson’s sack came on the game’s final play, sealing the eighth win of the season for the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks held the Gators to 261 total offensive yards and recorded 11 tackles for loss in the contest, including three sacks.

South Carolina is ranked 14th in both major polls this week, and come in at number 12 in the latest BCS Standings, moving up one notch in all three polls from a week ago.

The Gamecocks (8-2, 6-2 SEC) will not practice on Monday, but will return to the practice fields on Tuesday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. as they begin their preparations for Saturday’s in-state battle with The Citadel (4-6, 2-5 Southern). Game time is set for noon on Nov. 19 at Williams-Brice Stadium. The game will be televised throughout the Palmetto State on a pay-per-view basis. The game has been declared a sellout.
