KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — South Carolina senior Courtney Forcucci posted a 10-dive score of 543.20 to finish 16th in the semifinals of the three-meter springboard competition on Wednesday at the USA Diving Winter National Championships at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatics Center.

Forcucci fell four places short of qualifying for the finals for a second-straight year. She still has the opportunity to compete at the 2012 Olympic Trials in June because of her finals appearance at last year’s Winter National Championships.

Former Gamecock All-American Allison Brennan was slated to compete in Wednesday’s semifinals with Forcucci, but swelling in her knee prevented her from diving. Like Forcucci, Brennan will also dive at the Olympic Trials because of her appearance in the finals last year.

The Olympic Diving Trials will be held on June 17-24 in Federal Way, Wash.
