The University of South Carolina football team stayed steady in both national polls released this afternoon. The Gamecocks (8-2, 6-2 SEC) remain 12th in the Associated Press poll and 11th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll. In the BCS Standings released Sunday night, the Gamecocks dropped one spot to ninth.
The Gamecocks are coming off a convincing 38-20 win over Arkansas, snapping a three-game losing streak to the Razorbacks.
Oregon (10-0) is the new number one team in both polls, followed by two undefeated teams, Kansas State and Notre Dame. Four of the next five slots in both polls are taken by SEC teams, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and LSU.
Next up for Carolina is a date with the Wofford Terriers (8-2, 6-2 Southern), an FCS school from the Southern Conference. That contest will take place on Saturday, November 17 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia. Game time is set for 1 p.m. and the contest will be televised on a pay-per-view basis.
