COACH LAWING POST-PRACTICE COMMENTS
December 17, 2012

The University of South Carolina football team was forced indoors Monday as rain came through the Columbia metropolitan area. The Gamecocks (10-2) are preparing for the January 1 Outback Bowl against the Michigan Wolverines (8-4).

Commencement ceremonies were held on the South Carolina campus on Monday. Six Gamecocks earned their degrees in December including Jacob Baker (management/marketing), Byron Jerideau (criminal justice), Kyle Madden (criminal justice), Jared Shaw (sociology), Quin Smith (political science) and Devin Taylor (integrated information technology). Ten others on the squad went through the season with degrees in their hands.

Freshman running back Kendric Salley has practiced with the team since the mini-camp began on Saturday. Salley missed the entire 2012 season while rehabbing from a knee injury sustained in high school.

The Gamecocks will return to the practice field on Tuesday, working out twice, once in the morning and again in the afternoon.
