Byron Jerideau Bio

2012: Fifth-year senior defensive tackle… started all 13 games… made 40 tackles including 25 solos… had 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks… had a sack among his four stops against UAB… had a sack at Kentucky… blocked an extra point at Florida that was returned for a two-point conversion… credited with a career-best 10 tackles against Wofford[apos]s option attack… boasts a 670-pound squat and a 500-pound bench press… presented with an Outstanding Weight Room award at the spring game… graduated in December with a degree in criminal justice… played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl following the season where he recorded two tackles including a tackle for loss.

2011: Reserve defensive tackle who saw action in every game… credited with seven tackles… logged a sack in the win over Vanderbilt… recovered a fumble against Kentucky… moved to the offensive line briefly in the middle of the year and saw action on both sides of the ball against Mississippi State.

2010: Appeared in seven games as a reserve defensive tackle… made 10 tackles during the season, including 3.0 for loss and 2.0 sacks… first tackle as a Gamecock was a sack in win over Furman… posted two tackles vs. Arkansas… made a season-high four tackles in win over Troy… also had a sack in win over Clemson.

2009: Played defensive tackle for Coach Jeff Sims at Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College… posted 70 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks while helping lead the Greyhounds to an 11-1 record and the nation[apos]s semifinals where they lost to Blinn (Texas)… also blocked five field goals… squad was the Jayhawk Conference Champion, the Region VI Champion and ranked second in the nation.

2008: Redshirted as a true freshman at Fort Scott Community College.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Colleton County High School in Walterboro, S.C. in 2008… had offers from Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Baylor, Washington State and Grambling.

PERSONAL: Byron Jerideau is a criminal justice major.
