The South Carolina football program will hold its annual Pro Timing Day at Williams-Brice Stadium on Wednesday, March 27, when draft-eligible Gamecock players are scheduled to work out for NFL coaches and scouts.
Eighteen players are expected to take part in the event, which will begin at 10 a.m. in the Carolina weight room at Williams-Brice Stadium. Those former players slated to participate include Akeem Auguste, Reginald Bowens, Justice Cunningham, Aldrick Fordham, Qua Gilchrist, DeVonte Holloman, Damario Jeffery, Byron Jerideau, T.J. Johnson, Marcus Lattimore, Kenny Miles, D.L. Moore, Ace Sanders, Quin Smith, D.J. Swearinger, Devin Taylor, Shaq Wilson and Adam Yates.
The players will first be measured, then will take part in the standing broad jump, the vertical jump and the bench press in the weight room. When that is completed, they will move to the Williams-Brice Stadium field where the 40-yard dash, the short shuttle and the three-cone drill will take place.
Following the testing, individual workouts will take place in five groups: defensive backs; defensive/offensive line; wide receivers/running backs/tight ends; linebackers and kicker.
Viewing for the on-field portion of the event, which will begin at approximately 11 a.m., is open to the public with free admission. Fans (including families, friends and agents) can enter the stadium through Gate 4 on the west (Bluff Road) side of the stadium beginning at 10 a.m. and sit in the west stands (behind the Gamecocks’ sideline). Fans are reminded that no video cameras are allowed.
Parking will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis on the Williams-Brice Stadium surface lot.
Should inclement weather arise, the field activities will be moved to the indoor practice facility. Due to space limitations, that workout would not be open to the general public, agents or families. Parking would be available in the Athletics Village Garage, located at 1300 Heyward Street, across from the Stone Stadium soccer facility.
