The University of South Carolina football team worked under the lights at Williams-Brice Stadium on Monday night. The squad is continuing its preparations for the season opener, set for Thursday, August 29, against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

After looking at the film of Saturday’s scrimmage, head coach Steve Spurrier’s analysis of the performance had not changed. “We had some good plays here and there. We had a lot of bad plays. The pass protection is an issue. Hopefully we’ll get better at it as we go,” said the Head Ball Coach. “As the NFL boys would say, we’ve got to get the kinks out before the season starts.”

Coach confirmed that tight end Jerell Adams has a “twisted ankle. He should be fine in four or five days. If not, he won’t be able to play.”

The Gamecocks will practice again on Tuesday morning beginning at 10:15 a.m. In a scheduling change, the team is tentatively scheduled to practice just once on Wednesday, with that practice also scheduled for 10:15 a.m.
