GREENVILLE, S.C. — The South Carolina women’s tennis team wrapped up play in the Furman Fall Classic on Sunday in Greenville, S.C.

Brigit Folland, Katerina Popova and Alex Martin all won their singles matches. Folland beat Alex Moreno-Kaste from Furman in the seventh-place match for flight one 6-4, 6-4, while Popova defeated Tiffany Taveres of Tennessee 6-1, 6-4 to win the consolation draw of flight two. Martin finished in third place in flight six with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Furman’s Margaret Boyette.

Ximena Siles Luna finished runner-up in her respective singles flight. Siles Luna suffered her first loss of the season, falling 6-3, 6-1 to Lauren Mira of Vanderbilt in flight five. Natalie Looney replaced Caroline Dailey in the finals of flight six and lost 6-1, 6-1 to Georgina Sellyn of Vandy.

The Gamecocks return to tournament play next weekend at the Duckworth Family Fall Classic hosted by Clemson over Oct. 4-6.
