COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina’s women’s tennis team has earned multiple awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for academic excellence.

For the second year in a row, the Gamecocks were named an ITA All-Academic Team for posting at least a cumulative GPA of 3.2 for the 2014-15 academic year. Individually, Hadley Berg, Caroline Dailey, Brigit Folland, Elixane Lechemia, Alex Martin and Ximena Siles Luna were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for achieving at least a 3.5 GPA for the school year. It marked the second appearance in a row for all six except for Berg, who was a freshman this past season.

South Carolina’s six student-athletes tied for the most by an SEC team with Florida, Kentucky and Ole Miss, who all received ITA All-Academic Team nods as well. Arkansas, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt each had five and also received an ITA All-Academic Team award.

The women’s tennis team cleaned up on the SEC’s academic awards released earlier this month. Seven letterwinners took home a place on the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll for having at least a 3.0 GPA, while freshmen Berg, Megen Cochran and Alison Mills appeared on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. The SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll also requires at least a 3.0 GPA.
