DURHAM, N.C. – South Carolina women’s tennis went 2-2 against Texas in singles and 1-1 versus Rice in doubles on Day Two of the Kitty Harrison Invitational, played on the campuses of the University of North Carolina and Duke University.

Playing the No. 1 position this weekend, freshman Paige Cline picked a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Neda Koprcina for her second win of the weekend. Cline has posted an impressive 7-3 record this fall.

Freshman Ellie Zogg claimed the other victory for the Gamecocks, toppling Chelsea Crovetti at No. 3, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (5). Sophomore Alison Mills dropped her match to Lana Groenvync, 6-1, 6-1, and freshman Hannah Templeton fell 6-1, 6-2 to Dani Wagland.

In doubles, Cline and Zogg were victorious over Alison Ho and Emily Smith of Rice, 7-5, while Templeton and Mills suffered a 6-1 defeat to Katherin Ip and Solomiya Zinko.
