HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — No. 8 South Carolina women’s golf moved up the leaderboard in round two of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate after posting a 16-over 300 in windy conditions Saturday at Long Cove Club. The Gamecocks, who began the day in 13th place, will enter Sunday’s final round in 10th place with a 36-hole mark of 598 (+30).

Carolina junior Gaby Amos paced Carolina in the second round, carding a 3-over 74. She collected two front-nine birdies and made the turn at 1-over 36 before adding her third birdie of the day on the par-3 eighth. The Gainesville, Fla., native sits in a tie for 31st with a two-round total of 150 (+8).

Gamecock sophomore Lois Kaye Go grinded out a 4-over 75 Saturday after totaling 14 pars to go with four bogeys. The Cebu City, Philippines, native, who sports a 36-hole mark of 149 (+7), will head into the final round in a tie for 27th.

Carolina’s Marion Veysseyre (T20, +5) boasted a steady start to her round, notching a par on each of her first six holes. She posted a front-nine 36 (+1) and went on to shoot a 5-over 76 following four bogeys after the turn. Veysseyre sits eight shots off the lead with 18 holes to play.

Gamecock sophomore Ana Pelaez (T50, +10) recovered from a handful of front-nine birdies with an even 36 after the turn. She tallied seven pars, a bogey and a birdie on No. 3 over her final nine holes.

Anita Uwadia, the final Gamecock in action this weekend, fired a 76 (+5) in round two. She registered two birdies on her day, both of which came on her back nine. Uwadia is tied for 54th place at 11-over 153 through 36 holes.

No. 2 Alabama remained atop the leaderboard Saturday after carding a second-round 291 (+7). The Crimson Tide (577, +9) hold a six-shot lead over No. 13 Northwestern (583, +15), while No. 3 Arkansas (586, +18) rounds out the top three.

LSU’s Claudia De Antonio holds the 36-hole individual lead with a two-round total of 139 (-3).

Gaby Amos led the Gamecocks with a 74 (+3) after recording three birdies in Saturday’s second round. Two of the junior’s three birdies came over her final six holes of the day.
