Gamecocks Wrap Up Day Two of VT Invite

Carolina had 10 A-final swims in addition to one top-three relay finish on the second night of competition in Blacksburg.

BLACKSBURG, Va.- South Carolina saw 11 swimmers qualify for A-finals on Saturday at the annual Virginia Tech Invitational in at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.  The Gamecocks tallied another five top-three finishes with a pair of runner-up performances on the second day of competition.

Carolina began the second night session of the “Technotational” with another top-three relay performance, finishing third in the women’s 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.31.

Alex Wade finished third in the 100 fly (50.58) while Danielle Doennebrink and Anna Delgado also qualified for the 100 fly A-final on the women’s side.  Jenna Pehowski took third in the A-final of the women’s 200 free (1:52.83) while Ana Menedez Nava (1:03.09) and Alex Wade (56.62) took second-place in the men’s and women’s 100 breast, respectively.
