Gamecocks Prepared for Midseason Invites

Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina swimming and diving will conclude the fall portion of its schedule this week with the swimmers staying at home to host the Gamecock Invitational and the divers traveling to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the Tennessee Invitational.

The Gamecock swimmers will welcome six teams to the Carolina Natatorium for the swim only invitational. Joining South Carolina will be Gardner-Webb, UNCW, Georgia Southern, Vanderbilt, UNF, and FGCU.

The invitational will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 16, and run through Friday, Nov. 18. Preliminary sessions will begin each day at 10 a.m. while finals sessions will begin on Wednesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. and on Friday at 4 p.m.

Admission to the Gamecock Invitational is free for all sessions. Doors will open for spectators one hour prior to each session and a clear bag policy will be in effect. Spectators must remain in the upstairs gallery and will not be permitted on the pool deck at any time.

South Carolina’s divers will travel to the Tennessee Invitational that will run November 17 through 19 at the Allen Jones Aquatic Center. They will compete against divers from Duke, FGCU, Georgia Southern, Michigan, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Diving prelims will begin at noon on Thursday and Friday, and at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The top 12 divers in each event will then compete in the finals immediately following prelims.

The competition will start on Thursday with the women’s 3-meter and the men’s 1-meter, Friday will see the men’s 3-meter and the women’s 1-meter, and the competition will conclude on Saturday with the men’s and women’s platform events.

The Tennessee Invitational will be streamed on the SEC Network+ and live stats will be available on Meet Mobile. Admission will be free and a clear bag policy will be in effect.
