Three Gamecocks Sign as Undrafted Free Agents
Three University of South Carolina football players signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents following the conclusion of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Wide receiver Ahmarean Brown signed with the Cleveland Browns, tight end Trey Knox inked a deal with the Minnesota Vikings and EDGE rusher Tyreek Johnson cast his lot with the New York Jets.
In addition, all-purpose performer Dakereon Joyner has been invited to rookie mini-camps with the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints, while EDGE rusher Jordan Strachan has been invited to rookie mini-camps with the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans.
Four Gamecocks were selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Wide receiver Xavier Legette went to the Carolina Panthers with the 32nd pick in the first round; quarterback Spencer Rattler was picked by the New Orleans Saints in the fifth round; cornerback Marcellas Dial was tapped by the New England Patriots in the sixth round and offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo was taken by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round.
The Gamecocks have produced at least three NFL draft picks in each of the past six years. Legette was the 16th Gamecock selected in the first round and the 10th since 2000.
