Tyshawn Russell Bio
Second-year wide receiver who will be going through his first spring drills… blessed with excellent speed… gained some valuable experience as a true freshman in 2023, appearing in 10 contests.
2023 (Freshman)
Appeared in 10 games as a true freshman… saw action in just one of the first three contests, then in the final nine games of the season… recorded five catches for 81 yards… best game came against Furman when he logged a par of receptions for 65 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown strike from LaNorris Sellers… also had catches against Mississippi State, Tennessee and Clemson.
HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pa. in 2023… helped the Crusaders to the 2022 4A PIAA state championship… finished his senior season with 61 catches for 1,334 yards and 22 touchdowns… coached by Jeff Weachter… did not play wide receiver until his senior year of high school… played cornerback and safety as a junior, collecting 29 tackles with two interceptions… rated as the 24th-best player in the state and the 147th-best wide receiver in the nation by 247Sports Composite… ranked as the 25th-best player in the state and the 53rd-best “athlete” in the nation by On3 Composite… ESPN rated him as the 25th-best player in Pennsylvania and the No. 142 wide receiver in the country.
