Adam Yates Bio
2012: Senior placekicker who won the starting job in the fall… put together a solid season… was just 3-of-5 through the first seven games before catching fire… hit 3-of-4 at Florida, including a career-long 51 yarder, and made eight of his final 10 attempts during the regular season… the 51-yarder was the longest for a Gamecock kicker since Spencer Lanning hit from the same distance against Furman in 2010 and tied for the ninth-longest field goal in school history… finished the season 11-for-17 in field goal attempts and a perfect 49-for-49 in extra point attempts… paced the team with 82 points… made arguably the biggest kick of his career when he hit a 42-yarder midway through preseason camp, earning a scholarship… also assumed the kickoff duties and produced 33 touchbacks on 62 kicks… named the Most Improved Kicker at the 2012 Garnet & Black Spring Game… earned a spot on the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll for the fourth time in his career… played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl following the season… connected on both of his field goal attempts in that all-star game (from 40 and 41 yards) and tallied 10 points in the 34-0 win.

2010: Did not appear in a game… was a member of the 2010 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
2009: Served as the kickoff specialist most of the season… booted 49 of the team[apos]s 59 kickoffs… averaged 61.8 yards per kickoff with one touchback… was a member of the 2009 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
