2010-11 – Provided depth in the sprint freestyle events… Tied for team[apos]s third-fastest time in 50 free (21.27) vs. Alabama/Georgia…Top time in 100 fly (51.24) also came in Alabama/Georgia meet…Best time in 100 free (47.91) also came against Alabama/Georgia as a 400 FR leadoff split…Competed in seven of eight dual meets and at Nike Cup.

2009-10 – Competed primarily in the sprint events… Posted team[apos]s fifth-best time in the 50 free (21.14) as a leadoff 200 FR split at the Georgia Last Chance meet… Competed in all nine dual meets… Posted team[apos]s fifth-best 100 fly time (50.86) in meet with North Carolina/Virginia Tech… Top time in 100 free (46.71) came at Last Chance Meet… Named to SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

PRE-COLLEGE – Graduated from Riverside High School… Team MVP in 2008… Named all-state and all-region each year from 2005-09… Team captain in 2008…Helped Warriors to state titles in 2004 and 2008… Holds school records in 100 free, 100 back and as part of three relay teams… Club team is Y-Spartaquatics… Was silver medalist in 100 free at 2009 state meet… Finished sixth in 50 free at 2009 YMCA long-course championships…Helped club team to Y-Nationals team championship and South Carolina state titles in 2009…USA Swimming Scholastic All-American in 2007…Attending South Carolina on a Palmetto Fellows Scholarship.

PERSONAL – Full name is Garrett Michael Snipes… Born July 17, 1991… Parents are Phil and Brenda Snipes… Has two brothers, Matthew and Andrew…Plans to major in biology… Chose South Carolina because both parents attended USC and he was raised as a Gamecock…Also had offers from Davidson and George Washington.
