2010-11 – Swam the distance freestyle events…Shaved 17 seconds off her top 1000 free time with 10:37.97 vs. Alabama/Georgia…Also set a personal-best in 500 free (5:10.67) in the same meet…Participated in four meets (Clemson, Nike Cup, Kentucky/Charleston and Alabama/Georgia).

2009-10 – Competed in two dual meets and the Last Chance Meet… Swam the distance freestyle events… Top times: 200 free (2:00.69); 500 free (5:18.23), 1000 free (10:54.00), 1650 free (18:00.25)…Named to SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

PRE-COLLEGE – Graduated from Turpin High School… Selected to the all-conference first and second team… Earned the All-Ohio award… Was the FAVC conference scholar athlete… Helped the Spartans to a fourth-place finish at the state meet in 2009… Was an individual state qualifier in 2008 and 2009… Club team was Anderson Barracudas… Qualified for Y-Nationals in 2008 and 2009… Member of the Ohio Open Water Championship team… Member of National Honor Society.

PERSONAL – Full name is Claire Adams Shannon… Born November 25, 1990… Parents are Timothy and Julie Shannon… Has one brother, Jon… Plans to major in mechanical engineering… Chose South Carolina because of its location and its academic programs.
