Columbia, S.C. – Sophomore David Ovelson finished fifth in the one-meter board finals at the SEC Diving Championships at the Lancaster Aquatic Center in Lexington, Ky. Friday evening.

Ovelson entered the finals in second. His score in the final session was 338.60 after six dives. South Carolina’s other diver for the men’s squad, Corry Christian, finished 14th in the preliminaries with a score of 265.50.

On the women’s side, senior Lyndsey Havens finished 12th and freshman Sarah Mory finished 16th on the three-meter board in the preliminaries. The diving championships will continue on Saturday and Sunday.
