MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA – South Carolina freshman diver Cole Miller opened competition at the UANA Junior Pan American Diving Championships with an eighth-place finish in the boys’ (16-18) three-meter springboard on Thursday in Medellin, Columbia.

Miller, who is representing team Canada, finished the event with 485.3 points, which came on 10 dives. His bet mark of the event (66) came on two dives, an inward 2 1/2 somersault pike and a forward 2 1/2 somersault one twist pike.

Miller returns to action today in the one-meter springboard competition. He qualified for the event by winning the one-meter at the Canadian junior diving championships in July.
