Phil Steele has released his Midseason All-American and All-SEC teams. Eight members of the No. 15/13 South Carolina Gamecocks were named to his squads.

Senior defensive lineman Melvin Ingram was the highest decorated Gamecock, as he earned first-team All-American and All-SEC recognition. Sophomore running back Marcus Lattimore and senior Spur Antonio Allen were both recognized as third-team All-Americans and first-team All-SEC performers. Junior wide receiver Alshon Jeffery made the fourth-team All-American squad while earning a berth on the first-team All-SEC unit.

Senior offensive tackle Rokevious Watkins and freshman defensive end Jadeveon Clowney were named to the second-team All-SEC squad, while junior center T.J. Johnson and junior cornerback Stephon Gilmore were third-team All-SEC picks, according to Steele.

The Gamecocks are 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC as they reached the halfway point of the regular season. Carolina’s next three games are all on the road, playing SEC contests at Mississippi State (Oct. 15), Tennessee (Oct. 29) and Arkansas (Nov. 5), before returning to Williams-Brice Stadium for the final three games of the regular season against Florida (Nov. 12), The Citadel (Nov. 19) and Clemson (Nov. 26).
