AUSTIN, Texas – South Carolina wrapped up its season today at the NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships as the team finished in 33rd place with 10 points at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. The total was seventh amongst the SEC.

All 10 of the Gamecocks’ points came last night from its All-America 800 freestyle relay team of Marwan El Kamash, Michael Flach, Kevin Leithold and Gerard Rodriguez, which finished 12th. It was the second year in a row that Carolina’s 800 freestyle relay has garnered the honor, and its highest finish in the event since 2007.

El Kamash ended his weekend this morning in the 100 freestyle prelims as he finished 42nd in a time of 45.11. The lone individual competitor for the Gamecocks at the championships competed in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle events, along with being a part of the group’s 800 free relay team. The sophomore’s best finish game in the 200 as he placed 22nd, missing the finals by less than a second and a half.
