Vincent Named SEC Female Diver of the Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Julia Vincent topped off a record-breaking senior meet with a spot in the Southeastern Conference Awards for week 11. Vincent was named the female diver of the week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The weekly award comes after Vincent broke her own school record in the 1-meter at the South Carolina Collegiate Invitational. The meet also served as the Gamecocks’ senior meet, during which Vincent and her fellow seniors were honored for their accomplishments throughout their careers at South Carolina. Vincent took first place in both the 1-meter with her record-breaking 365.75, and in the 3-meter with a 373.65.

This is Vincent’s second SEC Diver of the Week award of the season, the first coming in week three after competing at Purdue and Cincinnati.

The Johannesburg, South Africa, native holds the South Carolina record in the 1-meter and 3-meter as one of the greatest divers in Gamecock history. She and the Gamecocks will compete in their final regular-season meet of the 2017-18 season this weekend at the Virginia Tech College Invitational before heading to the SEC Championships Feb. 14-18.
