Gamecock Women Finish the Season Ranked 25
Richmond, Va. – South Carolina Women’s Swimming and Diving has been ranked No. 25 in the final CSCAA Dual Meet Poll of the season. The Gamecocks retained their No. 25 position after first earning it in the February.
The poll is voted on by CSCAA-member coaches and select media. The committee includes nine representatives from the Power Five leagues, five at-large programs, and two media members. South Carolina assistant coach Jeana Kempe is on the women’s poll committee.
The Gamecock women went 3-2 in dual meets during the 2021-22 season. They earned wins over Gardner-Webb, Queens and UNC Wilmington. The Gamecocks’ only losses came against No. 8 Georgia and No. 18 Missouri in a close 152-148 decision. The Gamecocks were awarded 18 points in the poll to secure their spot at No. 25.
Graduate diver Brooke Schultz and senior swimmer Mari Kraus will represent South Carolina at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Ga., March 16-19. Schultz will compete in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive events, while Kraus will be in the 200 free and the 100 back.
