Kraus swam in the third heat of the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:46.13 to take third in the heat. She added 0.45 seconds to her seed time of 1:45.68, which places her at third in the program record book. Her preliminary time was good for 33rd overall out of 52 competitors.
Schultz competed in the 3-meter dive event, earning a score of 312.50 to place 19th overall. Schultz tied for first place through the first round of dives with a score of 63.00 on an inward two-and-a-half somersault pike. Schultz tried to come back, scoring a 54.00 on a back two-and-a-half somersault pike during the fifth round to jump to 26. She gave it her all in the final dive, scoring an impressive 67.5 on a forward two-and-a-half somersault 1 pike twist, but it wasn’t enough to find herself back in the top 16. The Fayetteville, Ark., native finished the competition in 19th place overall out of 51 divers.
