Divers Head to Athens in Search of NCAA Qualifications

Athens, Ga. – South Carolina’s divers will compete this weekend at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at the Gabrielsen Natatorium at the University of Georgia. The meet will run March 10-13 with participating athletes in search of a coveted spot at the NCAA Championships.

There are five zone meets across the country that will be occurring this week. Each zone has five women and four men automatic qualifiers in each events and additional spots are granted to zones based on how that zone did in NCAAs the previous year.

Representing the women’s team this year will be Blair Isenhour and Aislinn Zuechner. Isenhour will be making her second career appearance at the meet while this will be Zuechner’s Zone Diving debut. At the 2023 event, Isenhour placed 29th on the 1-meter board and 22nd on the 3-meter.

For the men, Charley Bayer and Max Spencer will represent the team. This will be Bayer’s second shot at the event and Spencer’s first. During last year’s event, Bayer came up just short of an NCAA qualifying spot on the 1-meter board, finishing in ninth place.

There will be no live stream of the meet, however live results will be available on DiveMeets.com. All events will run straight through with a 15-minute break in between preliminary and final rounds. A full schedule is available below.
