Fry Sees First Action at NCAAs

Indianapolis, Ind. – South Carolina freshman swimmer Connor Fry represented the team at the NCAA Championships on Thursday. The Kingwood, Texas, native completed his first event at the meet in the 500 free.

Fry swam a 4:20.79 that landed him in 49th place overall. The time was around three seconds more than his entry time of 4:17.98 that he posted at the SEC Championships.

Fry will compete again on Saturday in the timed finals of the 1650 free. He has an entry time of 14:54.52 in the event than makes him the 29th seed overall.

Also competing on Saturday is fellow freshman Max Spencer in the platform diving event. The diving prelims will begin at noon with timed heats of the 1650 free starting at 3:45 p.m.
