- Played in all 32 games (29 starts), averaging 15.4 points (9th in SEC) and 5.9 rebounds per game (13th in SEC) ; his scoring average was the fifth-most in the nation by a freshman
- Led the team in scoring 17 times, scoring in double-figures a team-best 25 times in 32 games played
- Had 11, 20-point games which was the most by a Gamecock freshman since South Carolina joined the SEC in 1991-92
- Led the team with 24 points and five rebounds in his final college game against Ole Miss (March 8) in the SEC Tournament ; was 10-for-20 from the field at Bridgestone Arena

- The consensus top player in the 2023 class, reclassified in late July to become a part of the 2022 class
- A five-star prospect, ranked No. 6 in the final 247Sports and No. 7 in the final On3 player rankings for the 2022 class
- Highest ranked incoming freshman in program history and joined former standout PJ Dozier as the only five-star signees all-time for the Gamecocks (recruit rankings started in early 2000s)
- Played in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League for Team CP3 ; in 20 games, averaged 12.8 points, 10.6 rebounds (led the league) and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from behind the arc
- Was named MVP of the 2022 National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) Top 100 Camp in early July ; over 300 alums have gone on to successful careers in the NBA since 1994
- Part of Team USA squad that brought home the Gold Medal at the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship in Tijuana, Mexico
