Gamecocks Akram Mahmoud, Fynn Minuth, Julia Vincent, Allyson Nied, Cody Bekemeyer, Nils Wich-Glasen and Albury Higgs each earned spots on the All-SEC Teams.

Sherritt was named the Women’s Diving Coach of the Year after his divers took first place in the 3-meter and platform events at this year’s SEC Championships.

Mahmoud is a First Team All-SEC selection after winning the men’s 1,650-yard freestyle at the SEC Championships, held Feb. 14-18 in Knoxville, Tenn. The junior from Cairo, Egypt, became South Carolina’s first male to win an individual SEC title in consecutive years since 2000-01. He also placed third in the 1650 at the NCAA Championships with a time of 14:22.99.

Minuth, also earned a spot on the First Team All-SEC after finishing first in the 500-yard freestyle and third in the 200-yard freestyle at the SEC Championships. The sophomore went on to earn All-America honors in the 500 free and 200-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships.

Vincent placed first in the 3-meter and third in the 1-meter at the SEC meet to land a First Team All-SEC selection. She set a pair of school records this season and was named the SEC Diver of the Week four times throughout the year.

Nied is a First Team All-SEC pick after finishing first on the platform at the conference meet with a school-record score of 325.90. The sophomore went on to earn All-America honors in the event at the NCAA Championships.

Wich-Glasen finished second in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke at the SEC Championships to earn a spot on the Second Team All-SEC. He later went on to secure All-America laurels in both events at the NCAA meet.

Bekemeyer was also named to the Second Team All-SEC after finishing third in the 1650-yard freestyle at the SEC meet and earning All-America honors in the same event at NCAAs. He was also a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that finished 13th at the national meet.

Higgs claimed a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team. She swam personal bests in each of her events at the SEC Championships: 400-yard IM, 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke.

The South Carolina men finished eighth at the SEC Championships and 15th at NCAAs, the best result of the McGee Moody era. The Gamecock women placed ninth at the conference meet, their best finish since 2012, and 38th nationally.
