No. 3 Gamecocks Set for Senior Day
Columbia, S.C. – The No. 3 South Carolina equestrian team hosts its final home meet of the season when the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs come to town. Saturday is also senior day for the Gamecocks, those festivities are set to start at 12:15 p.m., while the meet gets underway at 1 p.m. at OneWood Farm in Blythewood.
Last Time Out
The Gamecocks (5-4, 2-2 SEC) had their hands full with Texas A&M but dug deep to pull out a tiebreaker win and complete the regular season sweep of the Aggies two weeks ago. Junior Louisa Brackett earned the first fences Most Outstanding Player honor of her career with an 87-point ride on Batman as the Gamecocks and the Aggies battled to a 5-5 tie. Once the raw scores were calculated the Gamecocks emerged victorious to notch their highest SEC win total since the 2014-15 season.
Senior Day Festivities
Saturday’s meet is also Senior Day for the 2020 class. Quinn Brandt, Caroline Gute, Madelynne Herlocker, Bailey Imbus, Maddy Parker, Jordan Scott, Madison Sellman and Farley Wickre will all be honored prior to the start of the meet. - Carolina looks to avenge one of its two SEC losses this season after losing the matchup earlier this season at Georgia. Madison Sellman took M.O.P. honors on the flat at the meet.
- The Gamecocks enter the weekend at No. 3, their highest ranking of the season.

- Freshman Kiersten Beckner tallied the best horsemanship score of the season with her ride against Texas A&M, scoring a 76 on Frosty.
- Grady Lyman proved that the sophomore slump wouldn’t be a thing for her as the San Diego native has four M.O.P. wins on the flat this season, leading the team in M.O.P. honors.
- Freshman Madeline Schaefer has made an impact on the jumping seat side in quick fashion. The Westminster, Md. native has two M.O.P. honors this season, best amongst the Gamecock freshmen.
- Junior Billi Brandner has proven to be vital to Carolina’s success on the flat as she’s posted a 7-2-0 record. Her 85-point ride against South Dakota State is the seventh-best flat score on the team this season.

Georgia (4-4, 1-4 SEC) is fresh off a loss to No. 1 Auburn at home. Georgia has wins over South Carolina, Fresno State, Baylor and SMU this season.
